It's every man's dream to marry a women who can cook. Cooking sounds easy. But to be able to cook well is a different story altogether. You may think it is only true for man living in the 80s. You're wrong. Trust me, the above still stands, even in this century. Every heard "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach." There you go....
Remincising those days in secondary school during food & nutrition lessons. Moulding the dough in preparation to make sausage bun. But it never fails to turn out hard, charred and inedible. So it gets aimmed right into the bin. So much for our efforts.
And came O levels where we had to cook 2-3 dishes. I remembered cooking Sambal Long beans. Since mummy always cook it at home, i wanted to give it a try. A failed attempt, i must add. I was trying very very hard to get the sauce, but everytime i add water, it makes no difference, the beans will all turn out hard and dry. Okie... so adding more water.... still no use! Tried again, this time with a more intelligent move, adding water + lowering the fire. STILL POINTLESS. I GAVE UP. So i ended up serving dried, burnt long beans. It's not funny.
When i am ever going to learn the art of cooking? Mummy popped out the question to me yetersday, that i ought to cook 1 meal for the family since i'm on holiday. Just once, probably once, because they'll never ask me to step into the kitchen after that. haha.
Maybe i should just start with something small, like fried rice? We'll see how! You know actions speaks louder than words. =D
